Biography

Diana Weynand

Mini bio

  • Diana Weynand graduated from the University of Texas in Austin with a bachelor's degree in Music Education. She pursued a Masters of Music Education at the University of South Carolina. It was there she met her mentor, Don Gillis, who encouraged her to move her artistic talents to the field of media. Under his tutelage, she got her second masters in Media Arts at USC, and from there began working at the PBS station in Columbia, SC. After directing and producing the Emmy-nominated PBS series, Cinematic Eye, she focused her work on post production and moved to New York to work for ABC's post production department. There she was an editor on the 1980 Olympics and ABC soap operas, One Life to Live and All My Children. She became Editor and Supervising Editor for "The Barbara Walters Special" during the 1980-1981 seasons. Seeing a need for accessible hands-on training in the television field, Diana started a film and television training and consulting company and spent many years helping operators transition to new cutting edge technology. She has authored many books, including the Apple Pro Training Series books on Final Cut Pro and "How Video Works: From Broadcast to the Cloud." Recently, Diana has brought her music front and center and has produced music shows, directed music videos and written songs placed in television shows.
