Biography

Avery Lanman was born in Brentwood and raised in Rolling Hills, California. Since his early days he would run around with his father's camcorder using his siblings and friends as characters in short films. With a growing eye for cinema in his early teens, Lanman attended New York Film Academy and found narrative filmmaking to be his passion. Throughout high school he continued to write and direct short films and in his first years at Yale University he founded Wingate Pictures in 2010 with his production partner Chris Leavins.
