- Otto Lins-Morstadt was born on May 28, 1889 in Iserlohn, Germany. He was an actor and director, known for Um hunderttausend Mark (1919), Totenkopfreiter (1917) and Das Mysterium des Kleinods (1918). He died on September 15, 1962 in Asunción, Paraguay.
- In the first marriage he was married to the Jewish actress Ethel Schwimmer, in the second to Johanna Editha Camphausen alias Magda Elgen.
- In 1927 he married Charlotte Lentz, née Recke (1895-1974), who worked as a film producer (Mädchenhadel) in Berlin. The US Army Lieutenant Colonel and painter Juan Joaquin Lins-Morstadt (1929-2015) emerged from the marriage.
- After World War II, Lins-Morstadt lived in Paraguay, where he also worked as an author.
- In August 1917 he founded Mercedes Film GmbH (1917-1927) as the successor company to Lichtspiele Georg Wilhelm GmbH.
- He was a German silent film director and actor.
