Emmi Shockley is a filmmaker and writer originally from Ocean City, Maryland. She entered the independent film world during her teenage years when she was cast in director Michael Tully's feature film, Ping Pong Summer (Sundance 2014 premiere). She has worked as an independent producer, director, assistant director, and general film production professional since her 2019 graduation from New York University Tisch School of the Arts (BFA, Film and Television Production). She has written and directed three award-winning short films: Squall, J-1, and Don't Be a Baby. By twenty-four, Emmi was a lead producer on her first feature film, Throuple (2024), a queer romantic comedy set within Brooklyn's indie music scene. She is based in New York City, where she works as a freelance writer and continues to take on narrative film and music video projects.
