K.L. Going was born on 21 August 1973 in Rhinebeck, New York, USA. She is a writer, known for Fat Kid Rules the World (2012) and King of the Screwups. She has been married to Dustin Adams since 5 February 2006. They have one child.
She graduated from Wallkill Senior High School in in Wallkill, New York, and Eastern College in St. David, Pennsylvania where she was a Sociology major and a Biblical Studies minor.
