Pete Frates(1984-2019)

Peter Frates was born in Beverly, Massachusetts. He was a huge fan of the Boston Red Sox and eventually became a captain for the Boston College Eagles by the 2000s. In 2012, he had a diagnosis for Lou Gehrig's disease and advocated a solution to the disease. In 2013, he married Julie Frates and later lost the ability to speak and move properly. In 2014, he created the social media sensation known as the Ice Bucket Challenge that was made to raise awareness for ALS.
