Originally from Syracuse, New York, and raised primarily in the historic landscapes of St. Mary’s County, Maryland, William R. Craft, Jr. is a multi-disciplinary creative professional with a career defined by narrative depth and independent vision. A 1986 graduate of Great Mills High School, William built a strong academic foundation across several Maryland institutions, including Charles County Community College and St. Mary’s College, before ultimately earning his Bachelor’s degree from the University of Maryland.
Today, William resides in Kalamazoo, Michigan, where he serves as the President and Chief Creative Officer of Phoenix Reborn Films. Under his leadership, the studio maintains a steadfast commitment to artistic sovereignty, prioritizing physical media and direct distribution channels to ensure that creative integrity remains uncompromising by the constraints of traditional streaming platforms.
William’s storytelling often draws from diverse influences, ranging from regional baseball history to complex, world-building sagas like the Great Feline Assembly. His literary accomplishments include the Chronicles of Honor book series, which saw its first three installments published by mid-2016, as well as six published chapbooks of poetry. Whether through military sci-fi, satirical superhero parodies, or his work in independent film, William continues to champion the power of independent voices in modern media.
