As a young college student, Chris DiCesare's view of life was forever changed by a series of horrifying events in and around his dorm room: C2D1 on the State University of New York at Geneseo campus. From early February through late April of 1985, he and his college friends endured what is now referred to as 'The C2D1 Haunting'. Apparitions sighted, disembodied voices heard, moving objects witnessed and frightening physical attacks all became part of the ordeal suffered by Chris - who quickly became the focal point of the haunting - and several of his college classmates. Long suppressed by the participants themselves, the extreme haunting eventually moved into the realm of 'urban legend'. After almost a quarter century of avoiding the spotlight, in 2009 DiCesare - convinced by the level of respect and authenticity provided by the "Please, talk with me..." film project - finally agreed to share his experiences. The film recreated the 1985 events surrounding the photograph that has become known across the internet as the 'C2D1 ghost'. Following a 2011 college speaking tour, Chris was featured on the SyFy channel's show "School Spirits". The episode titled 'Dorm Room Nightmare' first aired on June 27th, 2012 and gained national attention. An accomplished lecturer and author, Di Cesare released his memoir, "The Ghost Boy of Erie Hall" (CITA Ventures) in September 2025. This, in conjunction with James Wan's Netflix exclusive mini-series "True Haunting" (release date October 7th, 2025) which offers a compelling first-hand accounting of the infamous extreme haunting from the person who found himself at its center, and survived it.
