Biography

Olga Korotko is a Kazakhstani writer-director and producer based in Dubai. Her films place ordinary people inside closed social worlds where private relationships gradually expose deeper structures of power, loyalty and moral compromise. Her work combines psychological realism, dark humour and controlled theatricality.

Her debut feature, Bad Bad Winter, premiered in ACID at the Cannes Film Festival in 2018. Her second feature, Crickets, It’s Your Turn, premiered in Concorso Cineasti del Presente at the Locarno Film Festival in 2024. Her third feature, Wind Sickness, is in development (2026).
