Daniel Ferland(II)

Daniel Ferland began working in the film and television industry in 1997. At the age of 27, he started out doing voice acting and sound effects for various low-budget comedies. he then moved into television, working as a cameraman and news editor. As opportunities dwindled, he opted for a supplementary income, performing mechanical maintenance on office buildings. He returned to the industry in 2009 as a location manager on a short film. Enjoying the logistics and location scouting aspects of filming, he continued his career in this direction. He has participated in dozens of diverse productions, ranging from student films to major American blockbusters, including foreign productions filmed in Quebec city. In 2017, with the help of people in the industry, he founded the BCTCA, the Chaudiere-Appalaches Film and Television Bureau. In April 2021, his life took a dramatic turn with the Covid-19 pandemic. Since then, he has been severly affected by Long Covid, forcing him to take a meager early retirement in 2022, without any savings, at the age of only 52. He has nevertheless maintained close and friendly contacts with several colleagues.
