Nancy Friedman(VII)

Nancy Friedman has directed ten narrative short films and eight documentaries. She has worked as a casting director for independent features and shorts. She is also a two-time Hollywood Foreign Press Award recipient and a member of the Alliance of the Women Directors.

Most of Nancy's work carries her signature as a Writer/Director. Many pieces are coming of age stories fueled by a character's inner journey. The documentaries are usually about people who like to help others or the world in general.

Nancy is a natural director. She loves the collaborative process and appreciates the hard work done by each crew member. It is that group magic that creates the final work of art that is a film. She also has strong skills as a producer. These skills have provided the means for making her films and for turning dreams into reality.

Nancy Friedman is a serious and dedicated acting coach. She loves the process and is grateful for her experience as a film actor. This has fueled her ability to teach acting so well. Nancy teaches acting in Los Angeles at her own studio. She also teaches at various schools, including LACC and The Playground Conservatory. She teaches acting classes to adults, teens and children, while also working as a private coach. With a background in acting, casting and filmmaking, she brings her students experience from both sides of the camera. And as a passionate teacher, she has developed a teaching style that integrates techniques and tools that help students unlock their creative potential and bring their characters to life.
