Biography

James Parnell is a four-time Emmy Award-nominated Re-Recording Mixer and Sound Editor at NBCUniversal StudioPost.

After beginning his career in London, he moved to Los Angeles where he contributed to Academy Award-winning films including Moonlight, Hell or High Water and Get Out. He has since gone on to establish himself as a sought-after Re-Recording Mixer and Supervising Sound Editor, building an extensive body of work across premium television, feature films, and documentaries. James’ Emmy-nominated work on Fallout (Amazon Prime), DTF St. Louis, and Hacks (HBO Max) reflects a career dedicated to crafting immersive soundtracks that elevate storytelling across some of television's most acclaimed productions. His selected credits also include Stick (Apple TV+), The Paper (Peacock) , A Man on the Inside, Twisted Metal, Dolly Parton's Heartstrings (Netflix), and numerous independent feature films and documentaries.

James is a member of the Motion Picture Editors Guild (IATSE Local 700), the Motion Picture Sound Editors (MPSE), and the Cinema Audio Society (CAS).
