Justin D. Roberts is a documentary director and producer whose work lives at the intersection of war, faith, and the people pulled through both. A former Army combat chaplain awarded the Army Commendation Medal for Valor for his service with the 101st Airborne's "No Slack" battalion in Kunar Province, Afghanistan, he carried a camera into combat and turned that footage into No Greater Love (2017), released theatrically by Atlas Distribution. Movie Guide called it "one of the best, most powerful documentaries ever made." The film earned eleven international awards, including the Santini Patriot Spirit Award.
His feature Fighting Spirit: A Combat Chaplain's Journey opened theatrically over Veterans Day weekend 2024, executive produced by Chris Pratt, as the first feature collaboration between Hollywood and the U.S. Army Chaplain Corps. The film screened at the Vatican. Roberts is the CEO of Echo Bravo Productions, based in Lake Charles, Louisiana, where his current slate includes Drive On, Above All, and the humanitarian series Do Good, in frequent collaboration with Hank Barbe.
Since the war in Ukraine began, Roberts has been filming on its front lines for Live Free and Chasing Fire, embedded with international volunteers of the Ukrainian Foreign Legion and the foreign correspondents working alongside them. He continues to minister to soldiers in country.
