Biography

  • John Chiara (kee AR uh) is a classically trained actor, writer, and poet graduating from Kent State University 2011 with a BA in Acting/Theatre.

He went on to Edinboro University of PA, to get away from his hometown to start up small and grow steadily and skillfully. Under his advisor Ms. Wagner who opened his eyes to the theatre life, he went on to land the lead role in his first semester as a freshman as "Brom Bones" in Sleepy Hollow. The following summer he performed in Indiana's Red Barn Summer Stock Theatre landing two lead roles in the two performances he was part of as "Daniel Warren" in "Sin, Sex, and the CIA" and "Ely" in "The Spitfire Grille" under the guidance of Dir. Stephen Henderson. In the start of his sophomore year, he landed the lead role in the musical "Roar of the Greasepaint and the Smell of the Crowd" as "Sir".

After his two years at Edinboro he decided he wanted to come back home and go to Kent State University where he grew further as an actor winning a leading role as a nameless character "National Guard Captain" in Dir. Cay Kosgriff's "Blanket Hill" based on the 1970, May 4th Shootings at Kent State. Under the tutelage of Professor Chuck Ritchie and Professor Rohn Thomas, he wanted to change his path of being a stage performer to acting for the camera. In the end of his senior year in his first film audition he landed the lead role in the paranormal, short-horror film "The Farm" as "Johnny Harper" By Ghost Walk Pro. Directed by Steve Olander. The film was a first for the company and a first film for John becoming a success winning the award, "best short-horror of the year 2012" by The Indie Gathering. Since then he has started modeling and is currently part of five films with supporting roles and part of the Cleveland's 48hour Film Festival of 2012 since his first film role of "The Farm".

He is now working as a freelance Assistant Editor through his company. Wolf of the West L.L.C. which is also a partner in Klic.gg, an entertainment and technology company.
