Biography

Sami Kolko is an actress and producer from Buffalo Grove, IL and has a diverse background spanning film, television, and theatre. Last year, three of her short films were showcased at prestigious festivals, including the Tribeca Film Festival, LA Shorts International Film Festival, and HollyShorts.

She is currently in post-production on a horror comedy feature film, a thriller short film, and comedy pilot.

In 2018 she created, produced and starred in her own web series directed by Joel Zwick (My Big Fat Greek Wedding, Laverne and Shirley, Full House). She also produced Times Stands Still by Donald Margulies, also directed by Joel Zwick in 2018, and produced the world premiere of The Brothers' Abelson Directed by Matt Leavitt more recently at the Electric Lodge Theatre in Los Angeles in 2025.

Most recently one of her comedy shorts, Cut Off, was selected to premiere at the Big Apple Film Festival, and also won the Audience Award for Best Short Film at the 2025 Miami Jewish Film Festival. Some of her other credits include acting in and producing two seasons of the web series "I'm Fine" which you can now stream on Dekkoo (an LGBTQ+ streaming platform)

She has a dog named Jordi that she co-owns with her husband, Jamie. He always has a blue mohawk (the dog).
