Krystal Alexander(I)

Growing up in metropolitan New York, Krystal Alexander was exposed to things many ordinary children couldn't dream of. Every weekend, she would go to her father's offices at the Museum of Natural History, where she would play among the exhibits and learn the history of our planet. She would regularly visit some of the most prestigious institutions of the world and learned to never take anything for granted. Her father always encouraged her to try new things and never hold back. It's because of this upbringing that she has such a strong belief in herself and her talents.

It's with this confidence, that having never picked up a camera before, she pursued a degree in film at Eastern Washington University. Within a year she was at the top of her class and received a scholarship for her merits as a filmmaker. Throughout her time at Eastern, she worked on a number of short films, some having gone on to festivals. In her pursuits, Krystal discovered her passion for directing and producing.

Knowing that she wanted to be a producer, Krystal began pursing her MFA in Filmmaking and Producing program at the Seattle Film Institute. While there, Krystal has directed several short films. In her most recent short, Moira Mariella, Krystal spent months in pre-production, meticulously planning her shoot from storyboards, to costumes, to the final cut. Through this diligence, the shoot went without a hitch. After production, Krystal collaborated with composers from the Pacific Northwest Film Scoring Program to develop the music. Moira Mariella debuted at a private event at the Frye Art Museum in July of 2014 and was very well received. The film is set to NFFTY in April 2015.

With each new endeavor, Krystal gives her all and her passion shines through. She strives to make each film better than the last.
