IMDbProStarmeterSee rank
Ellie Cole AM PLY is an Australian Paralympic legend and one of the country's most decorated athletes. She is primarily known for her extraordinary career as a swimmer. Ellie was born in Lilydale, Victoria, in 1991. At just two years old, she was diagnosed with a rare and life-threatening form of cancer (neurosarcoma) in her right leg. At age three, her right leg was amputated above the knee to save her life. As part of her rehabilitation, her mother enrolled her in swimming lessons. What was expected to take a year for her to learn to swim straight, she mastered in two weeks, showcasing her incredible natural talent and determination from a very young age. She began competitive swimming in 2003.
