Co-founded The Chantels where she was the lead singer. They were inducted into the Vocal Group Hall of Fame in 2002.

Received classical training and performed at Carnegie Hall at age 12.

When her music days were over, she taught elementary school in the Bronx until her retirement.

Graduated from St. Anthony of Padua Church & School in the Bronx, New York.
