Juliana Philippi is an American / Puerto Rican actor, fluent in English, Spanish, French and Italian. Determined to act on the international stage and screen from a very young age, she learned to sing classically, read, write and play music as a member of the San Juan Children's Choir for 11 years, performing on the island and around the world. She also began Flamenco dance training, as well as embarking on her early days as a writer, writing plays, essays and award winning short stories.
After finishing her high school and musical training, she moved to New York City to attend NYU, where she graduated with her BFA in Drama from Tisch School of the Arts and a minor in Art History from the College of Arts and Sciences. She has also delved into post-grad studies in acting at the Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute in New York, as well as the Atlantic Acting School summer program in Los Angeles, California. She also continued her Flamenco training with various teachers and mentors throughout California and Texas.
Particularly, her musical (singing) training and her dancing training have given her the tools and grace to communicate, and speak, with her form and body, granting her the gift of expression through sounds, and movement, enabling her to connect to various aspects of character work and creation, rich with human truth and universal resonance.
She travels the world acting in feature films, plays, and television series, while also working as a writer and screenwriter. She premiered the leading role of "The Dancer" in Theater in Asylum's "Ole!", at the Theater Under St. Marks in New York City, as well as the Fringe Festivals in Chicago, Rochester, NY and Prague, Czech Republic, under a stage name "Sofia Lund".
Most recently, her feature script , "A House for the Flowers" won Best Feature Script at the ECU Film Festival, in Paris, France, among other awards from festivals in the United States, and she’s in development for this screenplay, and others, for future production and distribution, while continuing to write, act and be of service as an artist, for the good of all.
