Alex Withers is a Director working in narrative film, commercials and music videos. His taste for cinema was shaped by a broken leg at age six and the closet full of VHS tapes that kept him company during a long recovery. He grew up competing in motorsport before turning his attention to film, applying the same sense of fun, grit and tenacity in his creative work.
His work balances the grounded and real with the stylistically playful and he loves projects that examine contemporary issues through the lens of otherworldly events or heightened realities.
Alex's work has screened at Academy Award and BAFTA qualifying film festivals, featured on Directors Notes and Alter and won awards internationally. Outside of Directing and Cinematography, Alex has worked extensively in the AD department for studio and independent features, television and commercials.
