Biography

Joyce Rivera is a Salvadorean- Canadian actress known for her work on film and television. Her credits include Schitt's Creek, Murdoch Mysteries, Netflix's series Sex Life, Slip, Amazon's The Expanse, and Remember.

She is a graduate of Toronto Second City's Improv program. Her acting training includes working under the direction of international professionals in the industry in Canada, Mexico, Spain and Colombia. These include training at the EACE (Espacio Artístico Carla Estrada), Madrid Escuela de Actores, and EMACT (Escuela del Método Actoral Bogota). Rivera also holds a baccalaureate degree in Social Development Studies and Social Work Studies from the University of Waterloo; as well as a B.A. degree in Psychology with a minor in Sociology from the University of Prince Edward Island in Canada.

Rivera is serving a two-year Executive position with ACTRA Ottawa Council for the 2026-2028 term. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time outdoors with her family, attending industry events, collaborating in creative projects, traveling and public education about organ donation.
