Ricardo Laganaro is an Emmy® and Venice Film Festival-winning Brazilian director specializing in immersive storytelling and interactive narrative.
He is best known for directing The Line, one of the most acclaimed virtual reality experiences to date. The project received the Best VR Experience award at the 76th Venice International Film Festival and won the Primetime Emmy® Award for Outstanding Innovation in Interactive Programming, becoming a landmark work in immersive entertainment.
Continuing to push the boundaries of immersive storytelling, Ricardo directed The Boys: Trigger Warning, an original narrative-driven game that expands the Emmy-winning television series into virtual reality. Developed in collaboration with the creative team behind the series, the project features performances by members of the series’ original cast, bringing audiences inside one of television’s most successful global franchises through an original canonical story.
A pioneer of immersive storytelling in Brazil, Ricardo has directed award-winning VR experiences, documentaries, and interactive narratives presented at festivals including Tribeca and Venice, while also creating 360° productions that have accumulated more than 60 million views. His work explores how presence, interactivity, and spatial storytelling can expand the language of cinema.
Before becoming Partner and Chief Creative Officer at ARVORE Immersive Experiences, Ricardo built his career at O2 Filmes, one of Brazil’s leading production companies, where he worked as Head of the 3D Department and VFX Supervisor on commercials, television, feature films, and international productions, including 360, directed by Fernando Meirelles.
