Biography

School years in Bensheim/South Hesse, 1985 Abitur, then social year in a home for mentally and multiply handicapped people near Heilbronn. 1986 Studies in Hanover, first economics up to pre-diploma, then architecture, 1996 diploma.

1984 to 1998 continuous various jobs and part-time positions in gastronomy, construction, industry, trade, service sector and architectural offices. 1999 to 2002 employee of the PDS parliamentary group, 2002 to 2003 unemployed, autumn 2003 to autumn 2005 self-employed.

Member of ver.di, VVN/BdA, xtausendmal-quer and the Steinhuder Meer Animal Protection Society.

As a youth she was involved in church youth and disability work as well as extra-parliamentary activities. In 1994 she joined the PDS, after which she continued her extra-parliamentary activities with a focus on anti-nuclear, anti-militarism and anti-fascism. 1995 to 1998 member of the district executive of the PDS Hanover, 1995 to 1996 of the federal party council, 1997 to 2000, autumn 2002 to summer 2003 and since November 2004 member of the party executive, since 1998 state chairwoman of the PDS Lower Saxony, February 2003 to September 2005 member of the spokesman's council of the Gera dialogue in the PDS.
