Biography

American professional wrestler best known for his work for CHIKARA from 2005-2009 as Hydra. His gimmick was of a wrestling sea monster who spoke unintelligible gibberish and prided himself on his strength, though his muscles were either fake or were simply drawn on his body. He debuted in 2005 as a follower of UltraMantis Black and would be one of the first members of Mantis' the Order of the Neo-Solar Temple with Crossbones. He also competed for CZW, Maven Bentley Association, Pro Wrestling Xplosion, IWA Mid-South, PWASD (Pro Wrestling All-Stars of Detroit), Inter Species Wrestling (Quebec, Canada), Insanity Pro Wrestling (Indiana), AIW, Fight Sports Midwest, Championship Wrestling Experience (Ohio), the Heartland Wrestling Association (Ohio), IWA Deep South (Tennessee). At "CHIKARA The Sordid Perils of Everyday Existence" on November 17, 2007, he essentially threw a match against Shane Storm, ending Storm's losing streak. It would later be revealed that Storm was the one who passed the counter to the CHIKARA Special to Mantis who gave it to Chris Hero (Chris Spradlin). Hydra turned tecnico (face/good guy) and he and Tim Donst left the Order and became the Sea Donsters. That ended when Donst turned rudo (heel/bad guy) on Hydra at "CHIKARA Young Lions Cup VII Night III" on August 16, 2009. Donst sent Hydra out of CHIKARA at "CHIKARA Throwing Life's Instructions Away" on November 21 2009. Dinsmore adopted a new gimmick of Leslie Butterscotch of the tag team the Flames of Love in the Wrestling Is... promotions. He is a former 1x Wrestling Is 24/7 Champion.

He used Blue Öyster Cult's "Godzilla" and Amy Winehouse's "Rehab" as entrance music. The Sea Donsters used The Beatles' "Octopus' Garden.".

Hydra was billed from "The Belly of the Beast.".

One of his signatures was the HydraLock Challenge, where UltraMantis Black would challenge anyone to escape Hydra's Full Nelson. It was the same idea as Chris Masters' (Chris Mordetzky) Masterlock Challenge in WWE, but played for laughs.

At "CHIKARA Style & Substance" on September 7, 2008, Hydra was involved in a bit with Director of Fun Leonard F. Chikarason (Joseph R. Sposto) that took a shot at WWE's Wellness Policy. After Incoherence (Hallowicked and Delirious (Delirious)), Hydra and Helios (Ricochet) had defeated the Order of the Neo-Solar Temple (UltraMantis Black and Crossbones) and the Best Around (Bruce Maxwell and TJ Cannon), Hydra was shown washing up and posing in the bathroom when Chikarason noticed his "physique" (that is, muscles drawn on with some black marker) and told Hydra that they have a wellness policy and that he would see Hydra in his office that Monday to discuss the matter.

Before the Order of the Neo-Solar Temple's match with Moscow the Communist Bovine (Dasher Hatfield), Dragon Dragon and USApe at "CHIKARA Bruised" on October 26, 2007, they cut a promo with Mantis showing off Hydra's "strength." Hydra was shown dragging a tiny toy car that was tied to a piece of string with his teeth. Crossbones pushed the car and Hydra "collapsed.".
