Hovanes Marutyan was born on March 6, 1990, in the family of Alexander Marutyan (director of popular science and documentary films) and Olga Marutyan.
Graduated VGIK (All-Russian State University of Cinematography) in 2011 from the workshop of honored professor Vadim Yusov.
From 2011 to 2015 - studied at the postgraduate course at the Moscow State University of Cinematography with a degree in Cultural Studies. The topic of the research was 'Visual image in the history of Soviet cinematography in the period of the 1960-80s of the 20th century and its social and cultural significance'.
Since 2011, has been actively involved in the production of films, television series as Cameraman and Second Unit DOP.
