Mini bio

  • Actor/Singer/Writer Mia Morrissey started performing at the age of sixteen, starring in the critically acclaimed short film Bat Eyes directed by Damien Power. She then immediately landed a lead role in channel 7's musical series In Your Dreams, which shot in Australia and Germany for two seasons, for which she also wrote original songs. Deciding to pursue training she studied at the Atlantic Theatre Company in New York before being accepted into WAAPA's prestigious full time acting course in 2016. Since graduating, some of her notable credits include Jade Lennox on Home and Away, Mimi Marquez in RENT at the Sydney Opera House, Gabby/Bobbi in City Of Angels at The Hayes Theatre, Nadiyah Zammit on Amazon Original series Deadloch and Laura Cunningham on Stan/Sundance series Totally, Completely, Fine. She was also set to play the titular role of Amelie in the musical Amelie at DTC, but unfortunately the show was indefinitely postponed as result of a COVID. Additional screen and theatre credits include season two of Harrow, Channel 7's Molly, Alice in Slasherland at The Old Fitz theatre and The Hope Song at the Flightpath theatre. She also produced and performed in Anything You Can Do, a cabaret bringing together female musical theatre performers to reinterpret roles originally written for men. Mia wrote, composed and starred in, In Loving Memory, an original musical about the complexities of grief, which was funded and programmed by the Hayes Theatre and brought to life on stage in 2022 with glowing reviews.
