Her husband, Darryl Parisien, is president of ALT Software Inc., a leading supplier of customized software solutions that enable 2D and 3D graphics in embedded computing devices.

After receiving her master's degree in public administration at Queen's University in Kingston, Ontario, Canada, her first job out was with Medcan Health Management, a private health clinic where she was tasked with building a physician network.
