She is one of the most important horror writers in Latin America. A Mexican writer and screenwriter, she is a member of the Mexican Academy of Cinematographic Arts and Sciences and was nominated for the Ariel Award in 2015 and 2020 for Best Adapted Screenplay.
She is a member of both the HBO writers’ team and the Horror Writers Association.
Fifty of her novels have been published by major international publishers, translated into ten languages, and adapted into feature films released in several countries. She has written forty-five screenplays for film and television, many of which have received awards worldwide. Among her most recognized works are Nightmare Cinema, Santiago Apostle, From Your Hell, and The Department.
Specializing in the horror and thriller genres, she has also directed four feature films and six television series with notable success. She has served as a juror at eighty of the most prestigious film and literary festivals and became the first Mexican screenwriter to write for Hollywood’s Masters of Horror.
