Alex Shimizu

Alex Shimizu is a born and raised New Yorker. He began performing with the National Dance Institute in 4th grade at Hunter College Elementary School and was mentored by Jacques d'Amboise. Alongside Jacques, he was featured on CBS's The American Spirit and NPR with guest host, Christopher Walken. Alex also performed Off-Broadway at Theater for a New Audience and in the film version of Julie Taymor's A Midsummer Night's Dream (2014). TV and film credits include Person of Interest (2011), S.W.A.T. (2017), Scorpion (2014), Community (2009), and the Netflix teen comedy, The Outcasts (2017). Alex now resides in Los Angeles and recurred on NBC's The Blacklist (2013) with James Spader, AMC's The Terror (2018) with George Takei and was featured in episode 8 of Interior Chinatown (2024) for Hulu. In 2024 he was cast as young Vince Masuka in Showtime's Dexter: Original Sin (2024), the prequel of Dexter (2006).
