Biography

Gina Vargas is an actress known for On the Road (2012), La Patrona (2013), Qué le dijiste a Dios? (2014) and Edén (2014). Gina Vargas was born in the oil boomtown of Coatzacoalcos, Veracruz, México. At the age of two she moved to Mérida, Yucatán with her family, her father, the architect Luis Vargas, her mother, homemaker Edith Pulido and her two brothers. She began studying ballet at the Centro Estatal de Bellas Artes in Mérida, Yucatán, when she was 7 years old. She graduated as a professional dancer 12 years later. After a short trip to Los Angeles, she decided to become an actress, and she moved to Mexico City to study acting. Her first job as a dancer was the musical "Hoy no me puedo levantar", after that she got a role in a soap opera in Televisa as an actress. Her first opportunity in film was the movie "On the Road", director Walter Salles, after that she got a role in the movie "Eden", director Elise DuRant. Her first movie in Mexico is the musical "¿Qué le dijiste a Dios?", director Teresa Suarez Maceiras. Gina Vargas has a degree in Business Administration from the Universidad Nacional Autonoma de Mexico UNAM.
