Theodore Wilfred Gyi (also known as Teddy Gyi) is a multi award-winning filmmaker and screenwriter from San Francisco.
Teddy Gyi began his journey as a filmmaker at age 13 - writing, producing, and editing micro-budget projects on 8mm and VHS. In high school, Gyi was an avid student of English, creative writing, drama, and theatre. He attended CSU Hayward, where he graduated with honors with a Bachelor's degree in Business Management.
After college, Teddy Gyi began his professional career filming and editing corporate training videos for several Fortune 500 companies.
In 2011, Teddy Gyi founded Tavoy Films International, an advertising agency and video production company. Gyi's list of clients (as Tavoy Films International) includes Google, FOX, Comcast, BMW, Mini, and numerous CPG brands, musicians, and athletes.
In 2017, Teddy Gyi released "Refuge," a feature-length dramatic film (as writer & director). The movie was produced by Tavoy Films International and distributed by Factory Film Studio and Huawei on digital streaming platforms worldwide.
In 2020, during the height of the COVID pandemic, Teddy Gyi started a marketing and operations consulting agency for startup companies.
In 2022, Teddy Gyi signed on as a screenplay writer for Dead Pig Productions.
Gyi is slated to direct his next two feature films in 2025 and 2026.
