  • Mauricio Monterrubio is a Mexican filmmaker and artist who currently lives in Copenhagen, Denmark. He studied cinematography and film direction in The National School Of Film Arts of the National Autonomous University of Mexico (ENAC - UNAM), previously known as CUEC. Nowadays he is working on the preproduction of the length film "The Valkyries Descended Into Hell" (Mexico - Denmark). He is a formal professor at the Mexican Society of Independent Filmmakers in the fields of directing, documentary and film language. He started to write film critique with the Mexican film magazine Correspondencias. His films blend narrative, documentary, and experimental approaches. His work as cinematographer was also shown at Reykjavik Art Museum for the exhibition Knowing The Ropes in a collaboration with the artists Theresa Himmer, Brynhildur, Pálsdóttir & Thuridur Ros. His work as cinematographer, post producer and colourist has been shown in festivals such as FIC Valdivia, FICUNAM, Black Canvas Contemporary Film Festival, Festival De La Habana, Rome International Film Festival, Short Film Corner Cannes, etc.
