Mini bio

  • James is an award-winning camera operator who works across Feature Films, TV, and Commercials.

As a member of the Association of Camera Operators (ACO), he is known for creating unique camera movement styles with Gimbals, Remote head systems and technically advanced Remote Camera Platforms.

James won the Guild of Television Camera Professionals Award for Excellence in 2019 for his work on the BBC Live Broadcast "Birmingham Commonwealth Games Handover" (a 7-minute single-take live broadcast). In addition, he received the Royal Television Award for best Multi-Camera Work on the BBC's "The Way Out Final Episode" (a 45-minute single-take TV episode).

James was also the Remote Head Operator on a groundbreaking virtual production project filmed with RSA Films called 100% Shutterstock which was awarded 'Best Use of Virtual Production' at The APA Ideas Awards 2022 and also nominated for Multiple technical innovation awards.

In 2015 James founded Motion24, a collective of highly skilled camera operators and technicians; he worked with this team to develop some of the most groundbreaking camera movement tools in use today.
