Rebecca Basaure is a Bolivian-American director and cinematographer based between Los Angeles and the San Francisco Bay Area. With 14+ years of experience working across documentary, narrative, television, and branded content, her work has taken her around the world and includes projects for Netflix, Disney, Apple, PBS, National Geographic, A&E, and Vans.

An Emmy-nominated filmmaker and Webby Award winner, Rebecca creates visually driven, character-centered stories that explore culture, conservation, and the relationship between people and the natural world. Her work is defined by a cinematic approach, global perspective, and commitment to stories with social and environmental impact.

Rebecca specializes in underwater cinematography and expedition filmmaking, bringing a unique perspective to stories above and below the surface. She is a member of the IATSE Local 600 Cinematographers Guild.

Rebecca Basaure is Bolivian-American director and cinematographer from La Paz, Bolivia. Rebecca's career as a cinematographer began at Panavision, Hollywood. She is a certified scuba diver and specializes in underwater cinematography. Today she works as a Los Angeles based freelance director and cinematographer and is a member of the IATSE Local 600 Cinematographers Guild.

Rebecca shot three episodes for Netflix's documentary series Street Food which was on the Top 10 Netflix TV Shows in its first weeks out. Her film Refugio has garnered critical acclaim, being selected at thirteen festivals and winning four awards, including Best Documentary Short at the Independent Shorts Awards Film Festival and Best Director Short Documentary at the Berlin Indie Film Festival.
