Kharyzma Raphael is a singer, actress, dancer, writer and fashion designer. She was born and raised in The Bronx for a portion of her life and later moved to Brooklyn, NY. She studied at Fiorello H. LaGuardia High School for music and art and performing arts (The Fame School) as a vocal major. There she studied classical and contemporary music. She went on to study Theater at Brooklyn College and graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Acting. Kharyzma started studying dance at Broadway Dance Center in NYC, (2015). She focuses on Jazz, Street Jazz and Hip Hop.
Kharyzma's inspirations are Michael Jackson, Janet Jackson, Debbie Allen and Marlon Wayans just to mention a few.
In 2001, Kharyzma wrote, starred in and produced "A Tale of Abuse". A film that shed light on relationship abuse among teenagers. Howard Thompson of Channel 11 News in NYC interviewed for his "Help Me Howard" segment. She was able to go more in depth about her passion for helping women overcome relationship abuse and domestic violence.
In 2006, Kharyzma did a voice-over for NIke's Lebron James sneaker campaign. Her voice was heard doing three different characters on Nike's website. In 2012, Kharyzma was an ensemble cast member in the Off Broadway production of "The Great Macdaddy", starring Khalil Kain and Charles Weldon.
Kharyzma was featured in several independent films such as "My Brother's Woman", "It Couldn't Be Me", and "Break Away", just to mention a few.
In 2017, Kharyzma booked a national commercial for Netspend Business Mastercard.
Kharyzma is an up and coming fashion designer who has sold her designs and hair accessories in over 40 states in the USA. Her company is Kharyzma4u Fashion and is expanding. You can find her fashion tutorials, natural hair tutorials and performance videos on her YouTube channel.
Kharyzma looks forward to a career on Broadway as well as film and television. Through performing, Kharyzma wants to continue inspiring women to empower themselves by living their passion and reaching their full potential. Kharyzma says "Never place limits on yourself, we are all to some degree multi faceted. It's all about accepting your God given talents and using them to the best of your ability regardless of what anyone thinks."
