Biography

Jim Acosta was born on April 17, 1971 in Fairfax, Virginia, USA. He is a writer and producer, known for House of Cards (2013), CNN Newsroom (1989) and Democracy in Peril (2022). He has been married to Liz Landers since June 6, 2026. He was previously married to Sharon Mobley Stow.

As chief White House correspondent for CNN, he had his credentials controversially withdrawn in November 2018 after several combative press conferences with Donald Trump; a Trump-appointed judge then ordered his pass returned a week later.

Graduated James Madison University 1993 with a Major in Mass Communication.

Hosts The Jim Acosta Show on YouTube after leaving CNN in 2025.

Played by Kyle Mooney on Saturday Night Live (1975).

Served as CNN journalist and anchor until 28 January 2025 marking 18 years of his tenure.
