Today everyone calls me Moe, and I was born in Egypt, Geza nearby the Great Pyramid; I don't remember when I started to have this passion for creating something different! Perhaps growing up in Saudi Arabia urged my creativity. I consider myself a thinker, writer, analyst, and artist whose work always returns to the intersections of media and psychology.
I studied a lot; I read so many books from many different perspectives, natures, and cultures (I never see this should honor me for anything); I believe I should know more and more.
I started my career in 1997 right after I had my final report in high school; I didn't make it, so I had to repeat it all again. I took it with a smiling face at that time. I started this year to attend some classes in my cousin's advertising company, at that time the whole company ran on only one Quadra Apple Macintosh machine, I was so lucky to meet the Adobe Photoshop 1.0. We were so few who met this dude at that time! Since that time, I started to teach myself everything in this field. It took me two years to become a graphic designer and became the manager of the same studio. Not a long time passed then I promoted to be the first Sound Engineer using the computer (Nonlinear editing) in MBC FM at Jeddah branch. I kept my graphic design work as a part-time job.
After eight years, I became a junior Video Editor-couple of years a Senior Video Editor! During this time, I did not spare my time without taking online classes to get my Master's degree in Fine Art-Mass communication! I bought a professional camera, I started to shoot some family stuff, and I turned it to be like a real film/TV material! Weddings, ceremonies, and funerals even at weekends I took shots for my friends and me while being super high touching the sky, we made so many hilarious lunatic videos!
One day I was making some usual video editing stuff at work when I got a call from my manager calling me to the shooting location for one of their TV commercials, I just arrived, and the producer told me that the director couldn't make it to the site, he said: So would you please take his place! I tried to tell him that I am not a director, but it seemed the fortune said its word! I became a director since that time, mainly for TV, and documentary films became my specialty. I started my production house in 2004 and produced over 300 documentary films and over 200 TV episodes for MENA region TV channels. I moved to Los Angeles and began to work as a video editor and post-production supervisor while working as a music business manager for one of the Jazz World music famous composers.
2017-2018 were my happiest years when our film "Dreams I Never Had" won many awards from well-known film festivals.
Sep 2018, we won The Best Feature Drama Film at the Burbank International Film Festival.
Jan 2019 was my luckiest month ever when I created my first CGI anime short-film "The Legend of Um El Magareen," under Virtualizer LLC, my animation studio and film production, where I filed a provisional patent for my new 3D animation technique (mixing between the Virtual world and reality film making), now moving to have my fund-raising.
Jun 2019, a few days from my birthday; My destiny keeps surprising me! When I completed "The Legend of Um El Magareen", and it went out for film festivals, just today I received this great news that my short anime film The Legend of Ume El Magareen selected as an official selection by 2 film festivals here in Los Angeles, still, I am waiting to hear from some other festivals.cross fingers!
Jul 2019 The Legend of Ume El Magareen, won three awards (Best short Mystery, Best TV pilot, and Best New Media).
Aug 2019 A Hollywood with Shakalama, my second anime short film completed and out for festivals.
Nothing left to say at the end, I love to think BIG, and I will never stop doing this, of course, I am looking all the time pursuing to find more affiliates to have a bigger tree, with more fruit.
