L. Gustavo Cooper's journey into the world of filmmaking began against the backdrop of Las Vegas, Nevada. Raised by a Costa Rican immigrant mother and an Air Force E.M.T. father, Cooper's upbringing was a tapestry of cultural diversity and unique experiences. In 1989, the family relocated to Jacksonville, Florida, where Cooper discovered his passion for skateboarding in 1998. Initially utilizing skate videos as a means of self-promotion and sponsorship, Cooper's innate talent behind the camera quickly garnered attention. His work caught the eye of 411 Magazine, leading to the creation of Chronicles of Gnarnia, a pioneering web series that offered a glimpse into the vibrant world of skateboarding culture.

Transitioning seamlessly into the commercial realm, Cooper's directorial skills flourished, earning him regional acclaim and multiple Addy Awards. Over the years, he has directed an array of festival-acclaimed short films, showcasing his unique storytelling style and cinematic vision.
