Biography

Shelby Hadden is a documentary filmmaker, creative producer, and TEDx speaker who tells bold, heartfelt stories that spark change. She’s currently a Creative Video Producer at Indeed, where she brings real stories to life through thoughtful, high-quality video production.

Over the past decade, Shelby has created content for industry leaders like Apple, TikTok, NBC Sports, and The New York Times, while also producing independent films that have screened at top festivals-including Sundance (Sister Aimee), Tribeca (To Be Queen), and SXSW, where her feature doc Faders Up: The John Aielli Experience won the 2024 Audience Award. She’s currently producing The Hog Queen, a horror-comedy short supported by the Inevitable Foundation’s Visionary Fellowship and starring Marisa Bode.

Her animated short Tightly Wound, which explores her experience with pelvic floor dysfunction, has been viewed over 4 million times and featured by Cosmopolitan, CBS, and Variety. Her TEDx talk, "Why We All Lose When We Talk About Virginity," continues her mission to reframe how we talk about our bodies and sexual experiences.

Shelby is passionate about empowering young people and giving back to her community. She previously taught film production at The University of Texas at Austin and Texas State University, has volunteered with Hugh O’Brian Youth Leadership (HOBY) since 2008, and was a keynote speaker at the 2021 HOBY World Leadership Congress. Outside of filmmaking, she shares her love of dance as an instructor at DivaDance Austin.
