Mini bio

  • Carlos Wallace is an American bestselling author, filmmaker, speaker, entrepreneur, and United States Navy veteran whose work centers on resilience, leadership, relationships, culture, and the extraordinary lessons found in ordinary life. Through books, film, live productions, and public speaking, he has built a career around helping people think differently about personal growth, character, and community.

Wallace is the author of Life Is Not Complicated, You Are, The Other 99 T.Y.M.E.S., Why Sell Lies When the Truth Is Free, and other works of nonfiction. His books have sold more than 700,000 copies worldwide and have been adopted by colleges and universities, with selections appearing in educational curricula, including the Texas English II assessment. Why Sell Lies When the Truth Is Free was submitted for consideration for the 2025 Pulitzer Prize.

As Founder and CEO of Sol-Caritas LLC, Wallace develops and produces films, live entertainment, and cultural programming that combine storytelling with education and community engagement. His screen projects include P.E.N.S., P.E.N.S. II, A House Without a Father, and The Other 99 T.Y.M.E.S. His productions have received multiple Telly Awards and Communicator Awards for excellence in storytelling and media production.

Before his career in publishing and entertainment, Wallace served in the United States Navy during Operations Desert Shield and Desert Storm. He later spent 23 years with Union Pacific Railroad, advancing to locomotive engineer while emerging as a nationally respected railroad labor leader. A fifth-generation railroader, he served as a Local Chairman, Vice General Chairman, International Organizer, and union strategist, representing railroad employees throughout the United States.

Beyond his creative work, Wallace serves as Chairman of the Development and Philanthropy Board for the Brailsford College of Arts and Sciences at Prairie View A&M University. He is also President of the Alice Wallace Foundation and Co-Founder of VR Eval, where he supports the development of technology-assisted mental health solutions.

Whether writing, producing, speaking, or mentoring, Wallace's work reflects a consistent belief that lasting success is built on character, responsibility, and service. He lives in Texas with his wife, award-winning journalist, comedian, producer, and communications professional Liz Faublas-Wallace.

Trademarks

  • Known for purpose driven storytelling centered on truth, resilience, and personal accountability.

Quotes

  • Insecurity is a powerful enemy. It forces people to use make-up, plastic surgery, collagen injections and liposuction; to nip, tuck, throw up, push up, suck in and laser.
  • No matter how talented you think you are there is always someone better. You can learn from them and hone your skills, or challenge them and reveal your weakness. You get farther in life if you know when to stay in your lane. Try to out run a master in pursuit of success, and you will remain a slave bound by failure.
  • The word friend is a label anyone can try on. You decide who is best suited to wear it. Choose wisely. The most dangerous among us come dressed as angels and we learn too late they are the devil in disguise.
  • Behind great men, children, companies or homes are some extraordinary women! Take time today and always to acknowledge the women in your life with a show of gratitude. Love compels a woman's heart. Appreciation drives her commitment. Kindness fuels her strength. Compassion gives her courage. God gives her to you.
  • Class. You either have it, or you don't. It's not determined by how you dress, your level of education or your social standing. It's conveyed in how you carry yourself and treat others. Some folks go to great lengths to "prove" they make the grade. Ultimately, people with class are outstanding without trying too hard to stand out.
