Leslie Barnett is an American actress born and raised in Los Angeles, California. She is best known for her work in the television web series House of Sharkes and the animated series Fox My Life. In 2026, she is in production on Season 2 of House of Sharkes and a proof-of-concept feature film, Caplata, in which she plays Jasmine, the film’s protagonist. Leslie trained extensively, studying at the John Swanbeck Cinematic Workshop, Scott Powers Studios, and Dan Warner’s ACES Studio. She is also a member of The International Acting Studio (TIAS), where she studies the Chubbuck technique under BAFTA member and master acting teacher Adam Davenport. Her passion for acting began early. Growing up in the 1980s, Leslie fell in love with cinema through films such as Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory and The NeverEnding Story, drawn to their imagination and emotional worlds. However, it was Chadwick Boseman’s performance in 42 that crystallized her vision of the kind of actor she wanted to become-one rooted in dignity, humanity and purpose, capable of telling stories that resonate beyond the screen. In addition to her on-screen work, Leslie has continued to build industry relationships through readings and developmental projects. She recently read opposite Jason Stuart (Tangerine) and Marisol Padilla Sanchez (L.A. She later portrayed Rosetta Douglass, a writer who refuses to remain silent in the face of injustice, representing the rebel archetype who cannot accept oppression or dismissal. Another defining role was Beneatha Younger, a young woman determined to become a doctor and "play God" by healing others, only to have her ambitions challenged by family and circumstance-an expression of the creator archetype fueled by vision and idealism.
