- Kelly Richardson's education includes a BA from UC Berkeley in Spanish and Theater, an MFA in Creative Writing from New York University, and dance training at The Ailey School in New York City. Before embarking on a career in film, she enjoyed a range of jobs including Ski and Snowboard instructor, translator, foreign language teacher, circus performer, and Scuba Rescue Diver and Divemaster. With the support of a Fulbright scholarship, she directed the award-winning documentary film, WITHOUT A NET (2012), which was shot entirely in Portuguese in Rio de Janeiro, and screened in many film festivals around the world.
In front of the camera, Kelly is an actress and stunt performer, with a particular pull toward physical comedy.
