Matt Somogyi is a director, writer, editor and sound designer born and raised in Los Angeles, CA. Matt tells humanistic stories through various genres, ranging from screwball comedy to horror, and he aims to explore multiple formats of media storytelling alongside his team of talented collaborators. Matt is also a co-founder and creative director of Parallel Film Company, which specializes in narrative production and video marketing.

The first film Matt saw in theaters was Paulie (1998).

Matt's parents are Cynthia Gullen, an accountant, and Peter Somogyi, an opera manager. Thanks to his parents and family, he has seen over 25 operas, with many repeated viewings of the classics. Matt attributes this lifelong exposure to the arts as his calling to cinema.

Matt has an ongoing collection of VHS, DVD's and BluRay's that he has accumulated his entire life, whose catalog is estimated to contain roughly 2,100 titles.
