Danella Dutton was born on June 10 in Riverdale, Georgia. She was introduced to the arts at an early age by her grandmother, beginning with tap and ballet before spending ten years competing nationally in baton twirling. The experience helped her overcome early shyness and build confidence as a performer.
Alongside her artistic training, Danella became a competitive multi-sport athlete, participating in softball, basketball, cross country, and track & field. She competed at the state level throughout high school and qualified for the Junior Olympics in 2001. The discipline, focus, and leadership developed through athletics continue to shape her approach to performance.
After an injury redirected her collegiate path, Danella reconnected with dance while attending Clayton State University. In 2003, she began training in salsa in Atlanta, Georgia, quickly committing to the art form and leaving college to pursue dance professionally. By 2005, she had established herself as an independent instructor, specializing in salsa while also training in ballroom, hip-hop, and jazz funk. Her work led to performances, choreography, and teaching opportunities across theater, film, music videos, and television.
In 2010, Danella relocated to Los Angeles, where she expanded her focus to acting. She began with private training before studying commercial acting, improvisation at The Groundlings, and later committing to scene study in 2015.
Today, Danella works as an actor, dancer, and director in Los Angeles, continuing to tell stories through movement and performance while remaining committed to the transformative power of the arts.
