- Ivan Alderman was one of the foremost costume designers in English theatre, starting his career at Stratford-upon-Avon's Memorial Theatre in 1947. He rose through the ranks and worked with the biggest stars of the time, being poached by Sir Laurence Olivier to work at the Old Vic in London from 1964 to 1983.
