Biography

Gibran Bazan, born in the city of Mexico, is the only pupil of Juan Lopez Moctezuma, cult filmmaker with whom he made several projects including the series of medium-length "I vampire" and is co-author with Moctezuma of the screenplay for the feature film 'Black Pinocchio'. In 2009 he undertakes the project of his first feature film "Generation Spielberg" with a script of his own, released on 2012. In 2012 he produced and directed the documentary "The Lost Files". In 2014 he shot the feature film "Le Bouquiniste", a Mexico-France co production, also with a script of his own. On 2017 he filmed "Arrhythmia", the first Mexico-Sicilian co-production, in Paris and Sicily scenarios. This feature film was part of the official selection at the Taormina International Film Festival. His film "Nudus" a science fiction thriller is to be release in Mexico and Internationally on 2023.

Gibran Bazan, Mexican director, producer and screenwriter, is the only pupil of the Mexican cult moviemaker Juan Lopez Moctezuma, creator of movies as "Alucarda", "The madness mansion" and "Bloody Mary". He worked for 10 years with Moctezuma in many projects including the TV series "I Vampire", "The food of fear", and as co-writer of his last project, "Black Pinocchio" which couldn't be completed due to the early death of the artist.

Bazan's first fiction feature film, "Generation Spielberg" with the support of Foprocine, was released on 2014, with screenings in Cannes and Venice Festivals, and in the official selection of El Paso (Texas), Aguas Calientes (Mexico), Cinema du Monde (Quebec) and Cinema Global (Dominican Republic) film festival. This film is still touring in countless film festivals around the world including countries as Korea, India, Indonesia, Japan, Mexico, Peru, Colombia, United States, Canada, Spain, Italy, Germany, Czech Republic, Serbia, Ukraine, Turkey, Israel, Iran, and Ghana.

In 2018 he released his second feature film "Le Bouquiniste", a Mexico-France co-production, also with script of his authorship and spoken in French and Spanish. It received the Pantalla de Cristal award for Best Actor and Best Cinematography, and it run in the national official competition to represent Mexico at the Oscars.

In July 2019 his film "Arrhythmia", the first co-production between Mexico and Sicily was part of the official selection in the International Taormina Film Fest (Sicily, Italy).

His film "Kintsugi", shot in Mexico in 2018, is currently in post-production. Now he is dedicated to the filming of his personal film "One Soul" and the post-production of his film "Nudus", a Mexico-Spain co-production.
