Biography

In the spring of 1991 through summer of 1992 bassist/vocalist Roberto Lombardi wrote and demoed the material that would become the album "Take On The World". The first to be recruited into The Rage was guitarist Michael Petrone who had played with Lombardi previously in the band "Stone Cold", recording an album & playing shows through most of 1990. The album was recorded with Lombardi playing all instruments except guitar. Background vocalists Cindy Eckert, Stan Sykes, Jay Regan & Toni Smith also participated.

When the album was released guitarist Jerry Helm & drummer Joe Ritts joined the band and "The Rage" was complete. The band gigged steadily through 1993 gaining a strong live following and opened shows for "Ace Frehley" and "Kix" that led to management and label interest both in the USA and abroad leading to Lombardi traveling to England to meet with interested parties. Upon return the band set out to record more material at the request of the labels. Helm and Ritts departed just as the the recordings for what became the album "Rock & Roll It" were completed. "Rock & Roll Radio" was chosen for a single and released and gained moderate airplay, but the band ended in late 1994 when suitable replacements for Helm and Ritts could not be found. "Rock & Roll It" was finally released in 2007 though a version of the "Cheap Trick" song "Dream Police" wasn't included and remains unreleased.
