    • Trivia
During the early 1960s, vocalist and bass player Ron Coleman did backup and lead vocals for the The Brothers Grim; the first American recording group to be featured with Vox Amplifiers and guitars made famous by the British group, The Beatles. The Brothers Grim was a top forties band which, in addition to performing their own recordings, performed many of the songs recorded by the Beatles.

After Ron left the group, he went on to play bass for another brothers' group, The Everly Brothers. One can only imagine how Ron felt on a certain night in 1971 while performing with the Everly's at the Royal Albert Hall in London, England, when he looked out into the packed house and there--sitting in the front row center-watching him perform--were John, Paul, George and Ringo!

Ron Coleman & Rocky Burnette co-wrote the hit record "Tired of Towin' the Line" for Rocky's 1980 EMI signature hit album "Son of Rock and Roll". "Tired of Toein' the Line" became a Top Ten hit in the United States and was featured in the movie "No Big Deal." The song was also popular internationally, and featured in the European hit television series, "Tohuwabohu" in the episode entitled "Blasts from the Past (1988). The song becoming a #1 hit in Australia and peaking at #3 in South Africa. It reached #58 in the UK's Top 100 Singles Chart.

Some of the other songs written by Ron Coleman include "Somebody Loses, Somebody Wins" co-authored by Ron Coleman, Allen Laney and Glenn Campbell's bass player Billy Gram and recorded by Rosie Flores. "Honky Tonk Man" co-authored by Ron Coleman, Lacy J. Dalton, and Gary Stewart and recorded by Lacy J. Dalton.
