Alexandra-Roberta Serban was born and raised in Bucharest. She graduated with a double master's degree in Film Direction and Filmology from the National University of Theatrical and Cinema Arts "I.L. Caragiale". She has worked in film production and was trained in the production house Mandragora. Her interest in cinema goes beyond its artistic dimension, extending to its use as an anthropological tool. Her film The Visit (2022) won the GRAND PRIX at the International Film Festival Etiuda&Anima 2023.
Roberta's thesis film, 99,999% (2023), was selected at the Heart of Sarajevo for best student film competition at the 29th Sarajevo FF, 23rd Transylvania IFF, 77th Cannes IFF, Short Film Corner section.
