Biography

Elena Bawiec is a film and audio production executive with a decade of experience bringing character-driven, emotionally resonant stories to life across screen and sound. As Head of Production at Fresh Produce Media, she oversees the studio's slate of immersive scripted and unscripted audio series, supervising 25 shows featuring talent including Jon Hamm, Billie Eilish, Troye Sivan, Kelly Ripa, Dan Aykroyd, Anna Chlumsky, Aparna Nancherla, and Mandy Moore. She has spearheaded innovative projects including the first Sony 360 Reality Audio-mixed podcast Mars Base One.

Elena has produced award-winning and genre-defining audio series, including top-10 podcast Blockbuster, back-to-back winner of Adweek's Podcast of the Year Award for Best Creative Podcast and 2021 Ambies nominee for Podcast of the Year.

As a film producer, Elena co-produced the 2022 Sundance award-winning Breaking starring John Boyega, Michael K. Williams, and Connie Britton, and served as Physical Production Executive on Roland Emmerich's Midway. She executive produced The Suitcase, which premiered at Tribeca, was acquired by ShortsTV, ARTE, and HBO, and contributed to technology later adopted as a SMPTE standard. She also produced 97th Academy Awards shortlisted Edge of Space, acquired by Disney+.

Elena holds an MFA in Film and Television Production from USC School of Cinematic Arts and brings a European perspective to her work, championing daring storytelling from thrillers to art house.
